When a secret she's been keeping costs her colleague his life, a pregnant engineer decides whether to stay quiet for her employer or speak up and lose everything. (~20mins)
FISSURE is a modern conspiracy thriller that knowingly challenges our traditional notions of heroism and “black and white” versions of right and wrong, and explores the impact of our selfishness against a backdrop of fracking and its impact on the environment
FISSURE was announced as a Quarterfinalist for the Fall 2018 Screencraft Film Fund Competition
Just wanted to touch base — it’s taken us a year to learn the catch-22 of short film funding for indie filmmakers: you can’t get talent without funding in place and you can’t get funding without talent on board. It’s been frustrating to say the least. It feels like we’re back to square one, just with a much tighter, smarter and polished script.
I still strongly believe in this script and, amid a climate crisis where we’re constantly choosing between decisions in favour of our self interests or in favour of the larger public good, I believe there’s no better time than now for FISSURE, with it’s message that it’s never too late to do the right thing, to be made.
So I’m going to keep trying. Until then, I welcome contact from anyone interested in helping us raise the funding we need to make FISSURE happen. No stone left unturned.

I know we've been a bit silent over the holidays, so wanted to share a few recent developments with you!
I'd like to welcome our Co-Producer, Lizzie Warham to the team! Lizzie is a Leeds-based producer with a passion for showcasing authentic voices and elevating new talent. Lizzie has worked across film, TV and live event production working for BAFTA, BBC Music and Leeds-based indie DUCK SOUP FILMS. Credits include Ackley Bridge for The Forge, Mount Pleasant Special for Tiger Aspect, the BBC’s Big Weekend and Teen Awards event strands, upcoming short film CANDY FLOSS, as well as numerous BAFTA events and projects in development with DUCK SOUP.
Lizzie has brought a fresh pair of eyes to the table while we develop FISSURE and in just a few weeks I've seen so much growth from the script, so I'm very pleased to have her on board.
We're also continuing our casting search and I'm proud to have the support of Thomas Adams Casting to match us with the right talent.
Enjoy the photo of me, Mike and Lizzie -- all smiles before we dove into a massive script session last night.
More updates soon,

Just wanted to let you know that we've been approaching cast and have been aiming very high. Contacting agents and getting in touch with actors takes time so our options were: (1) take our time and aim high or (2) shoot low and cast quickly. Mike and I went for the first option, and although it's hard to be patient, I know it's the right thing to do for this film, and that's more important to me than just making it to make it.
That being said, I do have a positive update which is that we've finally secured our LOCATION after 4 weeks of scouting and chasing for answers! It's an amazing space with plenty of facilities and I can't wait start planning the shoot properly in the lab/surrounding areas.
So, I just wanted to be transparent with everyone with why FISSURE news may go a little quiet for now as we wait to hear on cast. As soon as we have our lead role confirmed we'll be able to set shoot dates, finish crewing up and, crucially, resume crowdfunding/fundraising. I'm grateful and humbled to have the support of my friends and family behind me on this first leg of the funding journey, but to secure our budget we'll need a formidable cast and crew behind us to appeal to funding bodies, grants, and potential investors.
That's all I've got for now. If there's anything I've learned in 2018 it's that things take time, and I've got a good feeling that FISSURE will be worth the wait.
